Getting to know Ange

I plan on detailing the other sites in the "how we earn" series, but since this morning is crazy for me, I figured I would keep it simple and just give you guys a brief idea of who we are.

First off, my name is Ange. I am a busy mom of 8. Yes, you read that right, we have eight children. Four boys and four girls. My oldest is now married and has a family of his own, but we still have a house full of kids. (And two grandkids, but I am really only 21...not sure how that happened.)

I live in beautiful San Diego, CA and that is probably the biggest reason I have become a bargain shopper. When you hear people say that we pay a price for the nice weather, they aren't just talking about sunburns. The cost of living here is crazy and when I first moved here I almost died at the price of just about everything. I was a small town girl from Texas quite used to my cheap gas and cheap groceries and the adjustment was difficult.

I spend most of my days shuffling all the kids to and from school. Mornings are my time to search for those wonderful freebies and clip some coupons. I am just starting in the coupon world, but I have my eye on a binder so I can get more organized. My dream is to walk into the store one day and walk out paying about half of the actual bill. No, I am not one of "those" women with the four thousand dollar bill that walks out paying 34 cents, but I do like to save money where I can.

Where do i even begin?

My name is Letica but usually just go by Tisha or Tish, my husband swears Letica isnt my name! haha.  Im a stay at home mom to 3 children, 2 girls & 1 boy.  My girls are ages 10 & 6 and both are in school and my son is about to turn 9 months old.  Im married { of course ;) } for 9 years this october.

A little over a year ago i got involved in the freebies, couponing, savings, you name it i did it!  Once my son came along the couponing got a little overwhelming so i just stuck to the freebies or giveaways that was posted on facebook and other sites.  I plan to venture back into the couponing full time once he gets a little older and not so hands on! :)  BUT dont get me wrong, if i do find a good coupon i surely will use it [ of course if its needed! ]

What got me started in this freebie site is i saw all the awesome opportunities and savings i was doing i just could not share it with others!  I kept getting friends & family commenting on how well i was doing and they wanted to know how, so after awhile of debating off and on me and Ange finally decided to make a site!

Now this site is challenging and takes time BUT i absolutely love it!  I get so many free items each and every day that i LOVE mail!  i use to hate getting mail and getting those dreadful bills but now that i went paperless { another wonderful way of going green } i now only get a few junk items and tons of freebies!  There are times the mailbox is so FULL that they have to put it on my porch - absolutely LOVE those days!

Swagbucks

One important thing for us is to break it down for all of you as to how we earn our money. Between the two of us, we are members of several different sites. Some are great, some are so-so, and some are more a pain than necessary, but they are all good for earning some extra money.


I have to say that my personal favorite has to be Swagbucks. (You will find links to all the sites mentioned below.) Swagbucks works as a search engine. You use their engine to search and the reward is random "bucks" earned throughout the day. Typically, you can expect to win three searches per day with the random fourth thrown in from time to time. Searches pay anything from 5 to the rare 50. I have yet to see that 50, but have won 47 a few times on one search. With the bucks you earn, you can trade them in for different prizes. For me, it is the Amazon Gift Card (also known as an AGC). 450 SB's =one 5 dollar gift card from Amazon. You are allowed 5 of the same denomination per month, so I always go for the 5/5 AGC's first.

Paypal is also a popular card. Unlike the AGC's which have the smaller denominations as the best value, Paypal cards are actually better priced for the larger denominations. For example, a 5 dollar Paypal card cost you 700 SB's. The 10 dollar card is only 1335, saving you 65 SB's. It is always a great idea to do the math so you can get the most bang for your buck.

I started at SB's in June of last year. I will admit, I work it hard and my earnings show that. Without really sitting down and doing the math, I can estimate with confidence my earnings to be about 500 dollars in AGC's over the past year. This includes working their offer walls for points as well.

Offer walls are found on all earning sites. They can be a great way to earn some points, but you always want to check around and see what offers are crediting for others. It can be such a pain to do an offer and then have to fight for the points. It is always a good idea to check the Facebook page for Swagbucks and read what is working for others. The people are great about sharing.

You can earn an easy 5 SB's each morning by doing a few simple tasks. First, download the toolbar. Chrome does not allow it, so you must be using IE or Firefox. Each day when you sign in, you get one buck for having the toolbar. Next you pop over and answer the daily poll. That will earn you another buck. Trusted surveys are your next stop for another buck. Your final two come with NOSO. No Obligation Special Offers. You click through the path (typically less than five ads) and type in the captcha to earn 2 bucks. All in all, it takes less than five minutes and you have earned yourself 5 bucks.

Trusted surveys are also a quick and relatively easy way to earn some bucks. As soon as you register with SB's head over and complete your profiles on the Trusted Survey area. This will help them to know what surveys you might qualify for. Surveys are totally hit and miss, but when you do qualify, you can rack up an easy 25 to 200 points in about fifteen or twenty minutes time. I suggest checking the surveys a few times a day because new ones can pop up at any time.

Swag codes are a fun bonus. They don't happen every day, but do happen often. Downloading the swidget is  a good way to know when there is a code out. Sometimes they are just found in the swidget and sometimes you have to search for them via clues given. It is always fun (and a bit frustrating), but bucks are bucks.

So, that was the first lesson in how we earn. I promise the others won't require quite so much information, but the goal is to help you earn and we want to make sure you have a full understanding.

Welcome to our page

These past several months Letica and I have become, well, obsessed with the free offers often posted over on Facebook. In some respects, it started out as a fun little game. A race to see who got the most freebies in a day.

One day we realized how much money we were saving with the free samples, coupons, etc. When you are stay at home mom's, every dime saved helps out the household. We decided that if we were benefiting from the savings, why not share it with others.

This is how Freebie Frisky Hoarders came to be. It is our goal to provide you with the latest offerings of freebies, BOGO'S, coupons, etc. Many of these offers go quickly, so getting the information to you ahead of time helps you get ready for the race to the freebie.


Yes, there are other sites out there, so you might ask yourself, why choose you? Well, to that I say, we are funny girls that not only will help save you money, we will hopefully bring you laughs along the way.
